Winter Update

Stephanie here. Greetings, and a belated Happy New Year! I hope everyone has been staying warm and had the chance to enjoy the snow, even if that’s just looking out from a cozy room with a warm beverage.

I’ve a bit of a schedule update, and the schedule page has indeed been updated to reflect this. A few weeks after we returned to the studio from SBMA after building repairs were completed, we settled on 10:30am as the start time for Saturday Vinyasa- a nice balance of not needing to rush in the morning and still being done before lunch.

My Wednesday class is on hiatus temporarily; the winter semester schedule didn’t come fully together until the second week of January, which prevented an announcement regarding a January schedule ahead of time. My winter schedule makes it impossible to get to South Bend from Kalamazoo in time for a 6PM class M/W. But! There’s an idea bouncing around in my head, generated by conversations with a few of you that I am excited to be looking into how to implement. More to come in the next couple of weeks!

Class Updates, Fall Schedule

The South Bend Museum of Art has generously offered to host us while building repairs are completed. Don’t miss the chance to practice in such a beautiful space! A few things to keep in mind:

  • We are in the gallery off the back/riverside hall, directly across from the restrooms.
  • While this is quite convenient, they are public restrooms; please plan accordingly if changing before/after class (there is plenty of room in the restroom to change).
  • The museum is closed on Tuesdays; those attending class Tuesday evening can enter through the Century Center.
  • The start time for Saturday’s Vinyasa class has been moved up to 10AM while we’re at the museum. It’s a great opportunity to step out for coffee or tea after class and return to walk through the galleries.
  • Parking in the Century Center lot an entry through that door will usually be the best option.
  • Please continue to bring your own props during this time. We will bring a few from the studio just in case.

The fall schedule starts 5 September, with a switch from Restorative/Yin and Nidra on Mondays to Unwind on Wednesdays. Unwind is a blended practice. It begins with slow flow vinyasa to warm the body and let go of the day, and finishes with an opportunity for some targeted stretching and restorative asanas, shifting the focus inward. Missing Yoga Nidra? No worries, we incorporate it into Unwind regularly as well! Feel free to request it at the beginning of class.

Schedule Update

Stephanie is travelling this week, so there’s no class Wednesday evening 29 September. She’s back next week with Unwind, a split format class. The first half is active, warming the body up and working out the kinks of the day. The second half is restorative, allowing you to deeply relax. A great mid-week break!

The fall schedule is in effect. some minor changes and hopefully improvements suggested through your feedback. Enjoy.

Summer Schedule, COVID Updates

Effective 6 July, we are fully reopened. Those that are fully vaccinated are no longer required to mask or social distance at the studio, and while drop-ins are once again welcome we would prefer that everyone continue to preschedule, with a minimum of 2 hours notice that you plan on attending! Some classes have had very limited attendance over the last year. So those sessions will not have an instructor present without prescheduling. The summer schedule is also live. Ashtanga-Based Flow with Stephanie has moved to Wednesday evenings at 6PM, and we’ve added Vinyasa at 11AM on Saturdays. Keep an eye out for special events this summer, including the return of Yin & Vin!

Weekend Classes

In-person weekend classes are returning! Saturday classes return on 20 March with Ashtanga-based Flow at 9:30AM. Unwind your weekend on Sundays with Restorative/Yin at 4PM starting the 28th.

We are Back

Small glitch took us down temporarily but all is resolved pages are slowly coming back and previous blog posts have de-materialized and won’t return. New schedule and pricing pages are up and classes have resumed with all pandemic precautions in place check us out.
